HEALING POTENTIAL OF LATEX Synadenium umbellatum PAX (1894) CLEAN WOUNDS IN THE BACK OF RATS
ABSTRACT
Wound healing is a complex and organized process that develops through a sequence of cellular and molecular events. The purpose of healing is to repair the damage and vascular tissue to ensure the integrity of the epithelium and avoid the aggression of pathogens. The earliness of the healing process is critical to maintaining the state of health of the individual. In this study, the potential of scarring latex Synadenium umbellatum lesions was evaluated in clean induced on the backs of mice. Was performed excision fragment consisting of skin and subcutaneous tissue in 15 male Wistar rats, subsequently divided into three groups of 5 animals: Group I - Control positive biomembrane Biocure ® Group II - Test with aqueous solution of S. umbellatum, Group III - Negative control with distilled water. The assessment of healing in the three experimental groups was performed on days 7, 14 and 21 with a caliper and digital photos. Was compared to areas of injury by F test (ANOVA) and then comparing the averages of the areas damaged by the Tukey test. The differences observed on days 14 and 21, were statistically significant between Groups I and III (p = 0.001 and p <0.001) and between Groups II and III (p <0.001 and p <0.001), indicating that in this experiment the S. umbellatum resulted in faster healing induced lesions on the dorsum of mice, showing potential for clinical applicability.

EVALUATION OF LABORATORY ANGIOGENESIS
ABSTRACT
Angiogenesis is a multistep process that leads to formation of new blood vessels from pre-existing capillaries and participates in various physiological and pathological processes, including tumor growth and metastasis. Several methods have been developed for studying angiogenesis. The technique using the chorioallantoic membrane of embryonated chicken eggs (CAM) provides a safe and natural environment, among other advantages, for in vivo testing. The aim of this project was to present a detailed description of the technique of inducing angiogenesis in chorioallantoic membrane of chicken egg through a circular opening of 1.0 cm diameter at the base of the egg shell with the aid of a miro - reworking of Dremel, being deposited in the test solutions 13 0 day after opening. The angiogenic activity was expressed by digitized images and calculations of the percentage areas of newly formed vascular network, controls and treatment. This technique provides an option to study the pathophysiology and angiogenic and antiangiogenic substances.
